Re-Genesis!

© yamini
I have not blogged, or written in the longest time, and people have been asking me why so? I never took writing seriously, but this is an exercise to the mind, if not anything else. A very healthy outlet, which eases me out of a lot of tension.

So, to all those who come here and return back, without seeing any updates, here I am, back again, with another sprint! I want to say, that I will be regular henceforth, but writer's block is like pee; if you drink too much, you have to go.
I do not promise to be here forever, I do want to start writing regularly again. And the agenda, like always is as follows:

Monday Musings - for the love of poetry, and ramblings in rhythm.

Tangy Tuesdays - Gossips, Bashing, Opinions and All sorts of masala that, I otherwise do not write on social media.

Wordless Wednesdays - for the love of photography, when pictures speak more than words

Thoughtful Thursdays - When delving on important issues of life, often leads to sensible/senseless rantings.

Fictional Fridays - attempt to revive to the old art of story telling, through short or serial fictions

Silent Saturdays - Who blogs on a weekend? huh?

Surreal Sundays - because sometimes, you write so much, that you never wanna stop, and Silent Saturdays, bother the bejesus out of you! So you write, on a Sunday too!

Also, bringing back the tradition of Aisa Bhi hota hai, guests and impromptu posts, I hope to keep this space alive, until it slowly slips into another slumber!

Ready? Let's begin then! ;)

Meraki

Between the fingers
she held a charcoal
and ran them through the canvas
making tresses so beautiful..
the portrait breathed..
in monochrome,
as the sparkle in the eyes
reflected a million dreams
that she held..

She swept across the face
and the lips bled
in grey..
slowly transforming into
a painful smile
leaving an indelible impression of
melancholy.
Her spirit surfaced
as she laid her desires to rest
with strokes under the neck..
planting kisses, as she
dug deeper into the details..
The picture came to life
even when it was half done!

She had everything, but sight..
and she painted with colors
of her soul...
She called the canvas
her Meraki...

***
Meraki (Greek): the soul, creativity, or love put into something, the essence of yourself that is put into your work.

Fernweh

I belonged to you
my dear
long before I knew I
belonged to myself..
Places can be homes..
but for me it has been You
And I have been searching
for the warmth
since eons..

Walking into the unknowns
looking for a
place that seems familiar
which is nothing,but you...

Come to me,
like a longing
that stays and never goes
come to me and stay.
I have traversed enough
I want to see
what you look like
or seem.
or feel.
Come.

Eglaf

I walked into a room,
full of people practising plays
"Hey you", one called
"Come here and be a tree".
I stood motionless looking at
characters move by.
For hours together,
as the rehearsals began to set.
I smiled for having found a place somewhere,
then they thanked me and I left.
Walking on the street,
someone held my hand and said..
"Let's cross the road"
I was a crutch to their fear.
I looked around, wondering if I wanted to
cross the road at all?
Then someone came
and waved a hand.
I smiled.
Happily.
They asked for an address.
I obliged.
and they left too.

What was I?
nothing?
And then someone came along,
and asked me my name..
Are you Samah?
No... I said,
I am Eglaf.

In those woods..

Lost in those woods
where childhood meant
finding treasures

Never coming back
to a place where
folks killed for pleasure

Like that gentleman
who picked up a sword
of shallow deceit..

and shoved it in the
heart of his beloved!
what a courageous feat!

War or not, Peace or not!
Oblivious to everything
beyond measure

We were lost
in the woods
Finding treasures

Wish we never came back!

Nexus

© Yamini
I opened the window, looked out,
for something more
than my eyes could see..
but a pretty painted wall
stood lifeless, as still
as it could be

a human trace,
perhaps, a smile
or even a friendly stare..
A laughter here
a sob, or even
a few talks of care

But concrete jungle
stood all around
I felt a strange fear..
I wished for a human sight
instead some wires
dangled near

They weren't that bad
as I saw them talk
so blatantly to me
objects spoke
as living beings
they were all I could see

"Nexus", they hinted
the bond they had
it seemed so awfully strange..
we lack that bond
that empathy, that love
this is perhaps the"change"

Wishful thinking!

©Yamini

Time between
work -
for naps and siestas
when people often grab
a chance of reviving life..
Refreshing, relaxing, rejuvenating!

but I...
I push myself in to the depths of
vaguely arranged letters, so it may seem
to the hazy eyed.
transcending into the wonderland of
stories
where each page says
"turn me..
turn me now..
I hold a revelation for you"

I pass by each line, like it were
a terrain -picturesque
in pursuit of cracking codes,
and finding treasures...

but then, duty calls... and i wonder
what if i get paid for
reading and exploring
reading and exploring even more..

do you know of any such job?

That night...

That night..

I held Time
and committed a crime
of asking the night to stay..
The darkness harked
as the universe larked
and slowly it went away..

Then I..

Challenged the moon
to dance to the tune
as the wind began to play..
Slowly, mystery shrouded
as the azure was clouded
they took the moon away..

Even though...

I knew I could
do something good
and turn the tide my way..
The seas refused
as the stars diffused
they said they wouldn't stay..

And how...

Could I ever
be a little clever?
and make them heed, if I may!
Against the rule
can I ever fool
and mock the Mighty display?

The Article from The Speaking Tree

Here's the Article which was published in  The Speaking Tree which triggered me to write "Glass half-full half-empty conundrum"

The debate on whether the glass is half-full or half-empty continues. The optimist says its half-full. The pessimist says it's half-empty.
The project manager says the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.The realist says the glass contains half the required amount of liquid for it to overflow. The cynic wonders who drank the other half. The consultant says let's examine the question and prepare a strategy.
The worrier frets that the remaining half will evaporate by next morning.  The fanatic thinks the glass is completely full, even though it isn't. The entrepreneur sees the glass as undervalued by half its potential. The personal coach reminds the drinker that he can always fill the glass when he wishes.
The adolescent student says the glass is just another dirty trick played by the teacher to prove that students are dumb. The research scientist says that following initial observation and testing a working hypothesis for further research is "the glass is both half full and half empty and that their findings warrant further investigation with a more representative sample of glasses and contents".
The customer service agent will agree with you that the glass is half-full/half-empty and they will do anything in their power to fill the glass up at no extra cost. However after a full investigation you will be informed that you mistakenly received a half-full/half-empty glass since you only paid for a quarter.
The psychiatrist would ask you, "Is half-empty/half-full glass that important? Lets set that particular issue aside for a few moments and talk about what's really bothering you". The sales person will convince you that even though the glass is half full/half empty, you are getting more than your money's worth compared to buying a full glass.
The perfect housewife would not leave the glass sitting there long enough for anyone to consider the question, but wash it up, dry it and put it back in the cabinet in a jiffy. No half-full, no half-empty in her world.... just a full glass or an untidy one. The phobic says yuck, someone drank off it and left their germs on the glass. The radical thankful child of Jesus says, "the cup runneth over".
The Taoist sees that the glass is both empty and half full, that neither half could exist without the other , requiring a point of balance in order to maintain equilibrium in the universe and therefore are merely two mirror images of the same realistic concept.
So, in the purity of absolute truth, the glass is neither half full or half empty. The glass simply IS...

Missing, no more.. Just Quilling

My roomie's Hone Waale Pati Parmeshwar (HWPP) went to Germany for a few months. Though this wasn't happening for the first time, but this time the separation would be a bit different considering a few things :P

So Maloo is passionate about just two things. Lately I must say, the passion just boils down to one - QUILLING.

Now what is quilling?
"Quilling or paper filigree is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper is wound around a quill to create a basic coil shape. The paper is glued at the tip and the coil shaped, these shaped coils are arranged to form flowers, leaves, and various ornamental patterns similar to ironwork"

Here are certain samples made by our Quilling expert:

Artist : Maloo

Artist: Maloo

So  this hobby finally took over the space and time which usually was filled by someone who is currently filling spaces in Germany!

While we were exchanging talks about her "HWPP" reaching Germany safely, she said, "Actually I told him that I don't miss him much anymore, because the day he left, I kinda missed him a bit, but when I got back to quilling I almost forgot him."

Sigh!

Poor dude. Imagine, hungry husband returns from work, tired of the constant nagging by his boss, he slams the door and says "Maloo, where are you, what are you doing? Dinner?"

She replies, "Go feed your self, I am doing my quilling"

And then the Pizza companies make money!!

Ok ok.. I got too much into the imagination, I am sure nothing of this sort is going to happen. :D

Everything will be definitely taken care of. Probably, quilling might become a family business eventually. Then on birthdays, anniversaries, we’ll have pretty quilling memoirs.. Wow!! Sigh Again!! :P

Anyone interested in Quilling classes? Drop in a comment :P

Chitthi Aayi Hai

A few days back, a friend visited me and I acted sweet and all to make her leave her pen back with me. I have this crazy addiction for pens, you see. And 0.7mm tip, OMG, it reminded me of the China Pen that I had back in school (I still vie for those lovely ink pens).

So I kept that pen with myself and one fine day, I decided to write with it in my diary.
But it wasn't kinda enough. I wrote a few pages, but the pen still kept demanding that I use it to the fullest.

"This is not the purpose of my pen life, lady.. Use me", it yelled.

I wondered how can I do justice to it? I took out another diary which I usually use to make notes, and decided to write something in that as well.

For a change I began writing in Hindi. I had long forgotten the joy of writing in Hindi. I almost forgot spellings (maatras) of many words, but still I thought I should give it a shot.
Right then I got a call from my friend and I ended up committing that I shall write a letter to her in Hindi, with that pen.

The pen breathed. Finally. As if it's purpose would now be solved.

So I wrote a letter, the way we were taught in school, in a proper format starting with "Preeya Dost," and ending with "Tumhari Pyaari,".The beginning of the letter typically being "Aasha hai tum maze me ho, yaha bhi sab kushal mangal hai".

I still remember how Mrs. Madhu Shukla taught us to give regards to parents of the person you are writing to "Tumhare Maata Pita ko mera saadar pranaam", and many such nuances of letter writing.

Nostalgia triggered a lot of things, and I ended up writing a four page letter, entirely in Hindi. There were times when I would go blank, recollecting Hindi words instead of English ones. One particular word held me up for a good 15 minutes. The word was "attempt". The sentence was "Main bohot dino baad hindi me letter likhne ka 'attempt' kar rahi hu". I couldn't finalize between "Prayog/Prayas" so I wrote it with a slash.

As the pen filled the pages with beautiful Akshars, I realised, what a joy it is to write letters (I mean actually "write").I decorated the letter with cute flowers and hearts just to fill in all that was missing.

Yesterday I got a reply to my letter (in English though). And I have never felt so elated in a while. Trust me, there is no joy like reading a letter written by a loved one.

Emails are great, so is fb, twitter and all the e-messaging services. But it's always good to see how your handwriting looks on paper after so many years of giving it up, rather than how good you type in one minute. It reflects love in the efforts.

I love the Post Scripts (PS:) in the letters, somehow. They hold the most important information. I usually read it first.

There is so much to it, so many things that fascinate me. This is something long lost, and newly found..

Oh! The joy of writing - the joy of "writing" letters!

No Orientation

I am doing all random things, these days, without orientation. (Now don't get the word wrong, it has some literal meaning too :P ).

I thought before I get to some serious writing I should clear up some pending stuffs, like...

1. I have been wanting to learn "Character Dheela hai" song by heart.

2. I am keeping up with my sister blog --> Views and Previews. It's been really really long that the poor thing stood stranded.

3. I am blog hopping and catching up with blog buddies, whom I haven't visited since long.

4. I am back on Indiblogger. I hadn't updated it since so so long.

5. I got a really busy schedule too, so I thought I'd finish off my work, and then sit and blog.

6. I am working out these days.. :D., so I am usually short of time.

So once everything falls in place and I am not left with a "No orientation" state, I shall get back to some serious writing. Until then I think, it would be the usual Aisa bhi Hota Hais and Favorite Songs...

Right now, my current favorite, is.. you guessed it... "Character Dheela hai" track from the movie Ready.

Salman Khan does these awesome things, and I feel so good about all of it. Here are the lyrics..

Kudiyon ka nasha pyare nasha sab se nasheela hai
Jise dekhoon yahaan woh husn ki baarish me geela hai

Ishak ke naam pe karte sabhi ab raas leela hai
Main karoon toh saala Character Dheela hai

ho ! Main karoon toh saala Character Dheela hai

Ladko ka nasha pyare nasha sab se nasheela hai
Jise dekhoon yahaan woh husn ki baarish me geela hai

Ishak ke naam par karte sabhi ab raas leela hai
Main karoon toh saala Character Dheela hai

Ho ! Main karoon toh saala Character Dheela hai

Like It Like It...

Hai simple sa yeh formula, Hai love ka funda khokhala
mujhe bas pyaas tu hi de, cool cool cool rehta hai

Kisi ka haath thaam ke, hridaya kyun baad naam ke
I love you forever koi, fool fool fool kehta hai

Isey peene se hai matlab, ye yovan santreela hai
Fark padta hai kya baahon mein, munni hai ya sheela hai

Ishak ke naam par karte sabhi ab raas leela hai
Main karoon toh saala Character Dheela hai

Ho ! Main karoon toh saala Character Dheela hai

Yeh charcha Facebook pe hai, mazaa bas ek look mein hai
Hassi chehre ko toldi, baar baar baar baar karta hai

Jo dil ka photo frame ho, wahan photo kyun same ho
Calendar hi tarah usse, roz roz roz roz change karta hai

Kamar patli ho jitni bhi mazaa utna nasheela hai
Chalega jo bhi hai aankhon ka rang kaala ya neela hai
Ishak ke naam pe karte sabhi ab raas leela hai

Main karoon toh saala, character dheela hai

Ho ! main karoon toh saala, character dheela hai

Kudiyon ka nasha pyaare, nasha sab se nasheela hai
Jise dekhoon yahaan woh husn ki baarish mein geela hai
Ishaq ke naam pe karte sabhi ab raas leela hai

Main karoon toh saala, character dheela hai

Quoting, HIMYM

Just felt like putting this up, here..

Pooh Ted!

Robin:   How do you do this Ted? How do you sit out here all night, in the cold, and still have faith that your pumpkin's going to show up?

Ted:      Well, I'm pretty drunk. Look I know the odds are, the love of my life isn't going to magically walk through that door in a pumpkin costume at 2:43 in the morning. But it just seems as nice a spot as any to just ... Sit here and wait.

Ennui - Enough!

I  pour a coffee for myself. Black, without Sugar.
It's lent, I justify.

It's a beautiful evening and there is not much noise on the road. I sit in my balcony looking at the beautiful purple flowers bloom on a leafless tree.

Abhishek bachchan was in Nagpur for the music release of Dum Maro Dum, I think and try to feel bad for missing the chance. It was my city, I could have easily made it, had I known, that he was coming. I don't feel bad, somehow.

I try to think about the song that DellNaaz plays for me. It's a suggested track from a friend, from the movie Game, again AB jr flick.

The song goes on..

Maine kab ye socha tha hoga yu kabhi
raah me yu mil jayenge do ajnabi
hum dono jo paas aaye toh
dil jitna khush hai utna hairaan

I am falling, falling in love with you...

I like Shaan's voice. I allow the song to mesmerize me. It fails to do it. The chorus sounds lovely.. I try to learn the words, and sing along..

I am falling..falling in love with you...

I get the words right in 3 attempts.

There's a playing area to the left of our apartment. I look at the stranded see-saw in the park. Something separates the park from the civilization. It looks un-maintained and the bright yellow of the see-saw still looks effervescent.

I try and think about the wonderful days of childhood, but it fails to form a thought in my mind.

I realise, for a change, my mind is not at work, at all. I like the feeling.

I notice a cat trying to escape from underneath the fence. Strictly not an Ailurophile, I astound myself, feeling the pain. The fence scratches the cat, I feel the hurt. I keep staring at it, as it makes it's way to the other side and sprints swiftly .

An immediate distraction, is the wind. I feel it in my hair, as the sun sets. The purple flowers fall from the tree. There's an elation. My heart feels it.

Mind is blank. I am tempted to type a message on my cellphone and send it to 2 people.

But I don't do it. I feel like the cat, fear the hurt.
I want to get to the other side of the fence.

Someone realises my propinquity and sends an email.

It reads "Do something this time..if you..."
I am perplexed. I think it's time to cross the fence.

I scroll down my message inbox, I stop on one message.
It seems like a revelation. I decide to cross the fence.

How I wish I could simply hop over it..

I fall asleep listening to Hoobastank - The Reason, in loop.

I'm not a perfect person.
there are many things I wish I didnt do
but I continue learning.

I never meant to do those things to you. and so I have to say before I go,
that I just want you to know
I've found a reason for me,
to change who I used to be
a reason to start over new,
and the reason is you

I'm sorry that I hurt, its something
I must live with everyday
and all the pain I put you through,

I wish that I could take it all away
and be the one who catches all your tears,

thats why I need you to hear

I've found a reason for me,
to change who I used to be
a reason to start over new,

and the reason is you
I've found a reason to show

a side of me you didnt know
a reason for all that I do,

and the reason is you

The City of Love

Surreal, it was
so beautiful..
when you met me in the woods

I looked at you
you looked at me
and took home as much as we could

since that day
been looking for ya
come to me.. whereever you are...

In the night, sun shines
when I think of you
It's morning time
                                                                                     in the evening too..

The Street Musicians serenaded the audience.
She went ahead and dropped a cent in the hat. She did not smile.
"Madamoiselle", the guitar guy called out.
She turned back.
"Merci", he said and smiled.
She thought she needed to talk to them.
"Do you speak English?", she asked.
"A bit", he replied.
"How about you?", she asked the guy who had sung the song.
"I just sung the entire song in English", he replied.
"You know your song sucks", the girl said.
The guys laughed.
"What sense do the lyrics make? In the night, sun shines When I think of you It's morning time in the evening too..", the girl pointed out.
"Pourquoi amie?", asked one of them.
"Why?", the other translated.
"You cannot go against nature, even if you think about the one you love. It can never be morning in the night, nor can sun shine instead of the moonlight", she replied.
"When in love, everything is possible", the singer replied.
Looking at the crowd, the musicians started playing again. The girl stood next to them and saw them play the instruments passionately.
The lead singer began, as the guitarist dedicated each and every chord to the lady, the other guitarist wooed the audience.

"And I saw her walking
walking...
It was her shadow that
she left behind..

The people started talking
talking...
The path began to
unwind...

Her grace, her charm
and her smile
The way she held me in her eyes
for a while..

"Naa nanaaa naanaa", the audience joined.

The girl wondered if they sang for her. She wasn't very sure.
"Y'all only sing about girls, and your love for them?“ she asked.
"What else is more beautiful in the world, lady? “asked the guitarist in a French accent.
His sight pierced deep into her eyes. She couldn't reciprocate for long. She turned away.
"Why don't you sing something about France, Paris, it's history?“ asked the girl."We have been doing it, mademoiselle", the singer replied.
"Where?", she asked

They started another song..

"I saw a pretty woman
To the bar she went
And as she came out and saw me standing
She put me a cent

I held her as I
Played the strings
She wouldn't stay near,
She had her wings

She flew around and came to me
I saw the love in her that she saw in me
We looked at each other, and looked above
She denied it all, but she was in love

In a wondrous place
Stood a city of romance
Her mind would trace
All the steps of the dance

That she wanted to
Dance with the guy
Which she couldn't do
When she looked into his eyes

She acted crazy I had no clue
I played for the lady
My favorite tune
We looked at each other, and looked above
She denied it all, but she was in love

In a moment to Cherish
A moment of Chance
She comes and asks me
Sing to me of France

She acted crazy I had no clue
I played for the lady
My favorite tune
We looked at each other, and looked above
She denied it all, but she was in love

The audience again joined the musicians.
By now, the girl knew, they were singing for her.
"What's your name", the guitarist asked, as he continued playing the chords.
"Georgia", she replied
"Pretty you", he added.
She blushed and added "yours?"
"Noah", he replied and asked "Dance with me, will you?"
She smiled. She hadn't smiled in a while.
"What is your favorite song?“ asked the singer guy.
"I like what you are singing. Go on", Georgia said.
"This is the city of love, lady. We sing of love, speak of love, and dance in love", said the Noah.
"You speak good English", complimented Georgia.
"It's the language of love that makes you understand what I say", said Noah and twirled her around as she took a few turns and came back to him.
The audience applauded.
It was a serendipitous evening and she fell in love, in the city of love, with the city and the people.
“Everything is possible in love”, it resonated in her mind, as she hummed the tune she'd danced on.

Dedication Time

We used to have this "Request" stall in School fete where we used to request songs to be played for our friends, seniors and teachers.

That tradition persisted for really long and most of the Josephites would agree, that we still feel like dedicating
songs to each other, or to our friends and teachers.

It was a wonderful thing which we followed then and I thought of continuing it further by dedicating
songs to my friends, family or anyone who deserved it, on my blog which I had started a few years ago.

But, unfortunately, the blog stood idle as after one round of dedication, I kinda felt short of
ideas, songs, and creativity (Yeah!! Kinda Writer's Block).

To revive the old tradition, I thought of dedicating songs/poetry/lines to a few people who deserved
dedications and rembrances this year.

This is the first dedication to all the people with whom I loved conversing, and loved listening to them. Time has now changed, we talk less, but the friendship still is becoming stronger and mightier.

To Jincy, Piya, Ami, Muggs, CDMA this one's for you. Whenever I talk to you, or meet you, this is exactly what it feels like.

ek puraanaa mausam lautaa yaad bhari puravaai bhi
aisaa to kam hi hotaa hai vo bhi ho tanahaai bhi

yaadon ki bauchhaaron se jab palakein bhigane lagati hain
kitani saundhi lagati hai tab maanjhi ki rusavaai bhi

do do shaqlein dikhati hain is bahake se aaiine mein
mere saath chalaa aayaa hai aap kaa il saudaai bhi

Khaamoshi kaa haasil bhi ik lambi sii Khaamoshi hai
un ki baat suni bhi hamane apni baat sunaai bhi

-Gulzaar Saab

The wonderful times when we played, roamed about carelessly. To those wonderful times, when grown up lot seemed foolish and we, as kids thought, were the kings of our times.
This one's to Sunny, Pawan, Pallavi, Nandita, Michelle, Adiba, Tulip, Diba, Shilpa, Huma, Gibi, Piya, Ami, Priyanka.

chalo naa bhatake
lafange kuuchon mein
luchchi galiyon ke
chowk dekhein
sunaa hai vo log
chuus kar jin ko vaqt ne
raastein mein phenkaa tha
sab yahin aake bas gaye hain
yeh chhilake hain zindagii ke
in kaa ark nikaalo
ki zahar in kaa
tumhare jismon mein
zahar paalate hain
aur jitne vo maar degaa
chalo naa bhatake
lafange kuuch0n mein

-Gulzaar Saab

A dedication to people who stay far away, seldom visit me and to those who are out of touch..

kabhii yuun bhi to ho
dariyaa kaa saahil ho
puure chaand kii raat ho
aur tum aao

kabhii yuun bhi to ho
ye baadal aisaa tuut ke barase
mere dil ki tarah milane ko
tumhaaraa dil bhi tarase
tum nikalo ghar se

kabhi yuun bhi to ho
tanahaai ho, dil ho
boondein ho, barasaat ho
aur tum aao

kabhi yuun bhi to ho...

- Javed Saab

To all the people who are never gonna come back from where they have gone.

shaam se aankh mein nami si hai
aaj phir aap ki kami si hai

dafn kar do hamein ki saans mile
nabz kuchh der se thami si hai

vaqt rehataa nahin kahin chhupkar
is ki aadat bhi aadami si hai

In Loop

I am wondering, when was the last time I heard a song in loop for over a hundred times?
I really don't remember. But after a really long time, I found a song, which has managed to put me in a wondrous oblivion.

At the moment, I love the prelude and the way the song ends. In between, it's a reverie!

Ab duniya se shikwa nahi hai
Na raha ab zindagi se gila
Kis ka karam hai, kis ki dua hai
Ya naseebon se tu mujh ko mila
Ab jo mile ho, door na jaana
Tere bina dil lagta nahi

Mera jeena hai kya, marna hai kya, jab saath tera nahi
Paake rab kya karun, jab tu hi mera nahi
Mera jeena hai kya, marna hai kya, jab saath tera nahi
Paake rab kya karun, jab tu hi mera nahi

Berang se din the, tanha thi raatein
Kuch na badalta, jo tum na aate
Berang se din the, tanha thi raatein
Kuch na badalta, jo tum na aate
Kehne ko yun toh rishte kayi hain
Rishton mein koi apna nahi

Mera jeena hai kya, marna hai kya, jab saath tera nahi
Paake rab kya karun, jab tu hi mera nahi
Mera jeena hai kya, marna hai kya, jab saath tera nahi
Paake rab kya karun, jab tu hi mera nahi

Kyun chuph gaya hai, akhiyon ko meechay
Sharm-o-haya ke pardon ke peechay
Kyun chuph gaya hai, akhiyon ko meechay
Sharm-o-haya ke pardon ke peechay
Apne sanam se parda hai kaisa
Jab ke khuda se parda nahi

Mera jeena hai kya, marna hai kya, jab saath tera nahi
Paake rab kya karun, jab tu hi mera nahi
Mera jeena hai kya, marna hai kya, jab saath tera nahi
Paake rab kya karun, jab tu hi mera nahi

Snippets from Life

Weekend was awesome!!  We talked, rode through Tamhini ghats to Mulshi and had loadsa fun!!

5 of us had a great discussion about personality traits and we philosophized a bit too. This is the ideal scene where we sit at our apartment, enjoy music, have a nice cup of ginger tea and get involved in interesting discussions. They say, you should always speak out your mind. We did just that.
I happened to get into a conversation with Robo.

Robo asked, "So what do you think are my traits?"
I replied, "You are very temperamental and impulsive"
"And...?“ he asked.
"You are always pre-occupied with thoughts", I added.
Just then Debo intervened.
"No. I AM  ‘Pri-occupied’."

It took a while to make out what Debo meant. He sure was referring Pri, and undoubtedly he is Pri-occupied.
We may be anything, have any traits, positive, negative, neutral.... but Pri-occupation just happens to be Debo's business.

We all agreed hands down.

While trying to tune the violin, I broke the strings. And that's when I realized, there should be no strings attached when you are tuning a particular thing in life.

We had been to Mulshi Lake. Debo successfully climbed a tree after 3 futile attempts and got a stick shoved in his foot. He says, "It's not that I am not capable of climbing trees, it's just that I don't want to do it"
His capability was hence proved, with a few bruises here and there.
The first three times he began with a positive attitude and failed. The fourth time he began with a negative attitude and successfully climbed up the tree.  Irony? Or Obscure Optimism??  I wonder!!

Maloo was the water princess and she refused to come out of the lake. She found and Oar like log and kept rowing, without any specific displacement. She philosophized saying, "I have been rowing it since a long time and I am going practically nowhere."
BTW, she happens to fly to Denmark next fortnight.

Robo is realizing his dreams of opening a company and he has already given us positions in his firm. Soumo will be the head of the "Attrition department". Our positions really don't matter much.

This was probably our last weekend together. People are all set to watch Pardes, and they have already loaded Swades tunes on their music players .I am sure they'll Miss India (not the pageant).

I rode my bike with an average speed of 60 kmph. I am proud of myself :D.
Debo, was surprised and complimented me to which I replied “It's not that I am not capable of it, it's just that I don't want to do it.” I gave him a taste of his own medicine!!
For a change, for 1 day, I was not an alien.

The silence at the lake was deafening, and Robo voiced his opinion “Kitna sannatta hai bhaii”
I replied, “Sannatte se pyaar karo, ek din usi ke saath sona hai”
Seems, that was the statement we all agreed on. We are using it a lot these days!!

Diwali vacations begin on Wednesday!! Woohoooo :D

Season’s greetings to everybody! Cheers!!
