Strange.
He handed me a peg of whiskey
and said
"Swallow your grief,
with every sip.
You will be as good as new!"
I laughed.
How will they ever know
that it's not the spirits that
dissolve my pain.
They are not the clouds
that eat up the stars
and pour down as rains.
The sky, perhaps feels lighter.
But that doesn't work for me.
If you want me to forget
the pain,
give me another!
Else, I won't be able to
weave expressions
around my fragile life
that keeps breaking
making me feel alive!
Nepenthe (Greek) : something that can make you forget grief or suffering.
