Entangled

 The thumb holding the Little
The Index grabbing the Ring
The fingers, sure, the way they're placed
is an interesting thing

A hand is not just holding another
There's more to what I see
say Thumb is courage, Index is life
and Little is insecurity

And what about the Middle and Ring
placed one and one above?
Let Middle be dream, coz it is big
and Ring be nothing but love

So what does it mean, I wonder
None are of equal length
The shape is different, so is the size
They sure have different strength

An emotion of fear is the Little one
which hugs the Thumb so well
Far apart they stand so strange
but with another they perfectly gel

The Index is life, because it is first
It shows way to the other three
Middle comes next, which stands so big
That's how dreams should be

A vein in Ring finger reaches the heart
the place where love resides
It rests above life and dream
but has insecurity standing besides

A hand in hand completes the picture
of human emotions and feel
Perfectly entangled they simplify
The mystery that life conceals

I mock the metal, but
I never forget
I am, but, a perishable weed.

Phones and Moms

"Where were you?"

"I was.."

"Do you even realise that it is almost midnight?"

"I do"

"And how irresponsible it is that you do not stick to your time limits"

"Umm.."

"And how dare you disconnect my call?"

"No.. I didn't..."

"Shut up, you brat. I feel pathetic. What a shameless fellow you are. You have no respect for your parents."

"No, mom... "

"What no.. Where is your phone? WHERE IS YOUR PHONE? WHY DID YOU SWITCH IT OFF?"

"I was..."

"You did not want any disturbances, right. Mom would call, and what an impression would you have on your friends, huh??"

"But.."

"Just Shutup. I don't believe after all this you still have the guts to talk. Barely, 18 and you behave so arrogantly?"

"Mom..."

"Dare you get out of the house after 9. And tell your friends that I am not a Supercool Mom. Like it or Hate it..."

"Hmmmppphh"

"Look at your expression. Mannerless fellow. (slap)"

"Mom, the battery went off. My phone got switched off. I couldn't call to tell you that I would be late. And I was at Arjun's, next door."

"Errmm...But you could have called from another phone."

"It was just next door, Mom!"

"Hmm.. Dare you do it again, but."

(after some time)

"Dad, what's wrong with her?"

"Women!! Hmmmpphh... You get some  sleep, Son."

Let's bond inseparably
Let us just rust together

Chasing Cars

I usually like what I like and seldom take a liking to what others like and impose.

Ok! Too confusing. The point is, I was asked to listen to this song suggested by a dear friend and I didn't quite like it.

I did not understand the poetry, did not feel the essence in the voice of the singer, nor did I like the music.

But I like the person who suggested this song, so I thought I'd give it a try.

And I have surprised myself this time, I have fallen in love with this song. I really have no idea what's so special about it, but my day starts with this and interestingly ends with this too..

I wish I knew, why?

Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol

We'll do it all
Everything
On our own

We don't need
Anything
Or anyone

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel

Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see

I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Here I am

There are so many people who come in your life, walk out, and some stay forever.

One of the best lessons of life that I have ever been taught was by a person who thinks   exactly opposite of how I think. I have no idea why his talks never made sense to me then, but now, when I actually face certain situations, I realise how correct he was.

This is one of his patent, favorite dialouges that I am quoting, from the movie "American Beauty".

"I guess I could be pretty pissed off about what happened to me but its hard to stay mad when there is so much beauty in the world.....Sometimes...I feel like I am seeing it all at once and its too much...my heart filled up like a balloon that's about to burst..... and then I remember to relax.....and stop trying to hold on to it...... and then it flows through me like rain and i can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life.

YOU HAVE NO IDEA OF WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT I'M SURE .....BUT DON'T WORRY.....YOU WILL SOMEDAY" :)

I had no idea of what you talked about back then, but be assured, that someday is today and I have understood..

Thank you!

Understanding me

Debo sends this mail to me one fine morning and I wonder whether I should laugh, cry or scream.

The subject says "this is for you"

and the content says

"I discovered I scream the same way whether I'm about to be devoured by a great white shark or if a piece of seaweed touches my foot."

:D :D :D

I usually say that I have realisations time and again, about a few things. Seems, this time some one else had a realisation about me and my clan.

Tangled Illusions

I was busy mail-trailing with a very very dear friend - Varu and he ended up sharing one of the finest piece of gyan ever.

We usually write and talk about so many things. We see, observe and do so many things, but fail to realise the subtle lesson that Life implies in every little act we do.

If we realise, then it's a lesson, if not, it's just a zombie act.

This is an amazing piece extracted out an email conversation which I was having with Varu and he ended up quoting this.

I couldn't help but publish it, because I know how bad he sucks at keeping up his blog..

"Its so simple.. Today I was at gym and my headphone wires were all tangled and messed up..and I almost took 2 mins to untangle it.. but i didn't lose patience and did it.

And I was successful.. what did I lose there?

I kept walking on the tread mill,  all I had to do was lessen my pace so that I don't fall as I untangled the messed up wires..

Once I untangled it, I enjoyed the music, increased my pace and completed my tread mill.

And then I was thinking, Life is exactly the same..Everytime situations may not be pleasing. All I need to do is lower my pace, have patience and untangle the problems one by one and then I am good to go and enjoy life. "

Credits: For the World Cup Win

This wasn't easy.. This wasn't easy at all... Trust me!

I am not talking about the team and their efforts for the World Cup, mind you. I am sure that the men in blue have put in a lot of sweat to get what they rightly deserved, but this is more because of some very very important people.

I would like to give credits to all of them, here, on my blog..

1. Soumo : Had he not left his comfortable seat situated in front of the television and left the room for a phone call, the Pakistan wickets (during the India vs Pakistan Match) wouldn't have fallen. We realised the secret and kept pushing Soumo out of the room, and every time he left the room, one wicket fell.

Had it not been for Soumo's undying spirit for contributing towards the Indian cricket team, we wouldn't have made a place in finals, let alone be winning it..

The most faithful cricket fan award goes to Soumo.

We are in talks with the Government of Maharashtra to gift him 37 Bean bags. Why 37, don't ask me!!

2. Maloo: She slept and the wicket fell. Kudos to all the guys who made her lull to sleep in the most crucial Indi - Pak thriller. Had she not slept, when all the others were biting their nails, India would have not made it to the finals. Am sure she would be feeling proud of her sacrifice. Had it not been you, Maloo, India wouldn't have been in the finals, let alone be winning it.. It's only because of fanatics like you, who make the team win matches.
For maloo, we have a lot of accolades from prominent members of the society, though no one really cared to announce a 5 lakh Rs. for her. Nonetheless, I am sure 5 lakh people would give you all the aashirwaads and duas!!

3. Pallavi: She is the most superstitious, conventional follower of Indian Cricket. She never watches it, but when she does, she curls her fingers around the others, of both her hands, and says it's a "touch wood" act.

She holds it like that until the match ends, and in between, if she feels like releasing the curl, she passes it on to someone to hold it for a while. But the curled fingers, are always there, either on her, or on a much crazier fan - our mom! ;)

I have increased her pocket money from this month. I wonder how much the Government will understand about this act! So, no expectations from the Vadde Log.

4. Debo: He doesn't do much for the country, like not watching the match, or sleeping during the innings, etc.. he just makes sure that the above things are happening.

After the Srilankan innings, I get a message from him

Debo: Fcuk

Me: What happened?

Debo: Chk the score

Me: Ya, I am watching it. Huge total!

Debo: We did not think about Soumo. We should have made sure that he doesn't watch the match.

Me: LOL :D

A part of the credit for the win goes to me also. I sat all the while with my hand on the wooden handle of the chair. Not once did I move my elbow from the wood. And see, we all know the result... We are the World Champions!!

Everyone deserves credit. It's a great great effort from all of us.

All those who sat in the bathroom until another wicket fell, all those who kept standing until another four was hit, all those who saw an entire inning standing in front of a showroom letting the police tag away their vehicle, all those who wore blue and cheered, all those who compulsorily boozed because they knew that's how India would win, all those who sat in a padmasan without budging a bit, all those who did not watch the match and all those who watched it without any superstitions.

On a serious note, I salute to the spirit of the Indian Cricket team, Lord Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar and our captain MS Dhoni. They were phenomenal.

Cheers!! *clink*

I feel awesomely proud!!

Like Rajan says, "What a time to be alive!!"
