Your first Haiku right? In fact its a Senryu. Haiku must contain a nature word. (yeah, I came to know that recently too :P)
I see you ignored the 5-7-5 rule... I always do the same too. Can't follow so many rules.
Nice Yamini...i have started to understand and practice Haiku recently...English Haiku is pretty accomodating...Nature/Season word(or an implication like 'shiver', 'wet' etc.) and 5-7-5 need not be followed...but the idea needs to be conveyed..no matter how simple...an observation to philosophy...anything... :)
ReplyDeleteHaiku ...... read a few of the japanese ones - too profound to understand - especially without the context they were said in. Also didnt understand the reason for 5-7-5.
